Midweek Notes: How did you connect with your Child today?

This is something I have to share today.

In the morning, I got delayed and was rushing through the preparation of breakfast and lunch-box packing activities for my child. I was also preoccupied with some business commitments and deadlines.

When I asked my child to finish his breakfast fast, he didn’t respond and was playing with it. 😒

If I had been in my earlier self avatar (pre-pandemic), I would have pushed him, scolded him and the breakfast scene would have turned ugly.

Now, I am a changed person or parent you know. 😂 With a lot of hours of training and some ounces of patience, and with a heart of love and a desire to bond with my child, I had chucked the impatient self in me out of the door a long time back. 😍

I just took a deep breath and sat next to him and asked what’s the matter? Can you imagine the simple answer that I got from my child? It seems I forgot to hug him while giving him his cup of milk and didn’t ask him about his dreams from last night.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ When my mind is full of my work for that day, I would definitely be not present with my child completely to bond with him, isn’t it?

ufff…life is so simple and all we have to do is to be present with the child whenever we talk to them, isn’t it? How could I forget this simple fact? 🤔 My child has become my Mindfulness coach for today. 😍

No one can deny the fact that “A Child is the father of the man” isn’t it? We all can learn from our children if we keep our ears and eyes open.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ So I had decided that today onwards, I have to spend time with my child in a fully present manner and not in an absent-minded way.

I am going to spend early morning breakfast time as my bonding time with my child away from the gadgets, workpressure and everything.
